Notice for young amateur theatrical groups of Secondary schools, Universities, Colleges, Theatrical Schools, Institutes and Clubs of Greece and other countries
Please be advised that the Municipality of Messene is organizing from 17th to 27th April 2018 the 7th International Youth Festival of Ancient Drama in Ancient Messene.
The International Youth Festival of Ancient Drama takes place primarily at the “Odeon” in Ancient Messene, Greece. The festival focuses on the presentation of works of ancient Greek or Latin drama (tragedy or comedy) by students, it does not have a competitive nature and its purpose is the essential – experiential contact of young people with ancient drama and cultural heritage.
Participation in the festival is reserved exclusively for theater groups of Secondary schools, young amateur theatrical groups of universities, colleges, theatrical schools, institutes and clubs of Greece and other countries. Each theater group should consist of students exclusively, the number of whom should not exceed 20 people, and be accompanied by one (1) to a maximum of two (2) teachers or attendants. Submission of applications will take place in two phases:

Ευχαριστήριο δελτίο τύπου του Δημάρχου Μεσσήνης
Με επιτυχία ολοκληρώθηκε το 6ο Διεθνές Νεανικό Φεστιβάλ Αρχαίου Δράματος στο Εκκλησιαστήριο της Αρχαίας Μεσσήνης με την παράσταση της θεατρικής ομάδας των σπουδαστών της Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) «Προμηθέας Δεσμώτης» του Αισχύλου. Η παράσταση επαναλήφθηκε με μεγάλη επιτυχία στο Αμφιθέατρο της κεντρικής πλατείας στην πόλη της Μεσσήνης την Παρασκευή 7 Απριλίου για τους μαθητές της Μεσσήνης.
Στο πλαίσιο της επιτυχούς ολοκλήρωσης του 6ου Διεθνούς Νεανικού Φεστιβάλ Αρχαίου Δράματος, ο Δήμαρχος Μεσσήνης Γ. Τσώνης ευχαριστεί θερμά τους επιχειρηματίες της περιοχής που προσέφεραν απλόχερα και αφιλοκερδώς, συσκευασίες δώρου τοπικών προϊόντων της Μεσσήνης για τις θεατρικές ομάδες που έλαβαν μέρος στο φεστιβάλ. Η κίνησή τους αυτή λειτούργησε ως φορέας τουριστικής προβολής της περιοχής μας, καθώς τα προϊόντα ταξίδεψαν στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Συγκεκριμένα οι επιχειρήσεις που προσέφεραν προϊόντα τους είναι οι:

- Μεσσηνιακή παράδοση- Μαρία Δουβόγιαννη
- Politis Home Made Sweet Delights
- Συνεταιρισμός «Συκική»
Επίσης, ευχαριστεί ιδιαίτερα το Σώμα Εθελοντών Σαμαρειτών, Διασωστών και Ναυαγοσωστών του Ελληνικού Ερυθρού Σταυρού για τη συμβολή τους στην ασφαλή διεξαγωγή του 6ου Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ καθώς και τα μέλη της Φωτογραφικής Ομάδας Καλαμάτας που αποτύπωσαν φωτογραφικά τις υπέροχες παραστάσεις που παρουσιάστηκαν στο Εκκλησιαστήριο Αρχαίας Μεσσήνης και διέθεσαν αφιλοκερδώς το φωτογραφικό υλικό στο Δήμο Μεσσήνης.
